1. Connect the two switches using an Ethernet cable.
2. Configure both switches with an IP address and a subnet mask.
3. Configure each switch with the same VLAN (if planning to use VLANs).
4. Enable trunking on both switches.
5. Verify that the trunk link is active by pinging between the two switches.
6. Configure the ports that will be used for trunking on both switches.
7. Verify the configuration by checking the port stats on both switches and making sure they show up in the VLAN database.
