There are several methods for sharing a monitor between two computers, depending on what type of computers you are using and what type of connection you have.
If you have two computers with a VGA port, you can use a VGA splitter or switch to share the monitor. This will require a single cable from the switch or splitter to the monitor, and two cables running from the switch or splitter to the computers.
If you have two computers with a DisplayPort connection, you can use a DisplayPort splitter or switch to share the monitor. This will require a single cable from the switch or splitter to the monitor, and two cables running from the switch or splitter to the computers.
If you have two computers with HDMI ports, you can use an HDMI splitter or switch to share the monitor. This will require a single cable from the switch or splitter to the monitor, and two cables running from the switch or splitter to the computers.
If you have two computers with DVI ports, you can use a DVI splitter or switch to share the monitor. This will require a single cable from the switch or splitter to the monitor, and two cables running from the switch or splitter to the computers.
Finally, if you have two computers with USB ports, you can use a USB video adapter to share the monitor. This will require a single cable from the adapter to the monitor, and two cables running from the adapter to the computers.
