A ping test is a type of network performance test that is used to measure the speed and latency of a network connection. It works by sending a small packet of data, called a “ping”, from one computer to another over the network. The ping is sent, the other computer receives it, and then sends a response back to the computer that sent the ping. The response time is measured and recorded, which gives the user an indication of how quickly the two computers can communicate with each other.
