A server is a computer designed to process requests and deliver data to other computers over a local network or the internet. Servers are often much more powerful than workstations and are often used to host websites, databases, and web applications. Servers typically run specialized server operating systems such as Windows Server or Linux, while workstations are typically used for more basic applications and run general-purpose operating systems such as Windows or Mac OS.
