1. Log in to your domain name registrar‘s website and locate the DNS management section. Depending on the registrar, you will either be able to edit the name servers or specify an IP address for the nameservers.
2. If you are using a third–party provider for your DNS services, enter their name server addresses. They will typically provide four different addresses.
3. Most hosting companies provide DNS services as part of their plans. If this is the case, then enter the DNS server addresses provided by the hosting company.
4. If you are running your own DNS servers, enter the IP address for each DNS server you have set up.
5. Save your changes and wait for the DNS settings to take effect. Depending on the registrar and hosting company, this may take up to 48 hours before the changes take effect.
1. Log in to your router/modem’s web interface.
2. Locate the section for DNS settings.
3. Enter the primary and secondary DNS server addresses.
4. Some routers/modems allow you to enter more than two DNS server addresses. If so, enter those as well.
5. Save the settings and restart your router/modem.
6. Test the connection to make sure that the DNS addresses are working properly.
