1. Open the Control Panel.
2. Choose Network and Internet.
3. Click Network and Sharing Center.
4. Select Change adapter settings.
5. Right-click the connection for which you want to change the default gateway and select Properties.
6. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click Properties.
7. Enter the IP address for the new gateway and click OK.
8. Select Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) and click Properties.
9. Enter the IP address for the new gateway and click OK.
10. Close the Network and Sharing Center and the Control Panel. The new default gateway will take effect immediately.
1. Open the Start menu by pressing the Windows key on your keyboard.
2. Type “ncpa.cpl“ and press enter to open the Network Connections window.
3. Right click on the active internet connection (usually called “Ethernet“ or “Wireless Network Connection“) and select Properties from the dropdown menu.
4. Under the Networking tab, click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and select Properties.
5. On the General tab, click the ‘Use the following IP address’ radio button, then enter the desired IP address and subnet mask for your network.
6. Click on the Advanced button, and then in the IP Settings tab, enter the desired default gateway into the Default Gateway field.
7. Click OK twice, and then restart your computer for the settings to take effect.
