1. Open the Control Panel.
2. Go to Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center.
3. Click Change adapter settings on the left side of the window.
4. Right–click on the network connection that you are using and select Properties.
5. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).
6. Click the Properties button located at the bottom of the window.
7. If you have a static IP address, enter the new IP address that was provided to you in the IP Address field.
8. Enter the corresponding subnet mask, default gateway and DNS server information as well.
9. Press OK and then Close.
10. If you have a dynamic IP address, select Obtain an IP address automatically and then Obtain DNS server address automatically.
11. Press OK and then Close.
12. Restart your computer for the changes to take effect.
