1. Open the Start menu and type “Run”.
2. When the Run window appears, type “regedit” and hit Enter.
3. In the Registry Editor window, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\WinStations\RDP-Tcp.
4. On the right side, double-click on the PortNumber value.
5. In the Value data field, enter the new port number you want to use and click OK.
6. Close the Registry Editor and restart your computer.
7. Open the Windows Firewall and create an inbound rule to allow the new RDP port.
To change the RDP port in Windows 10, open the Windows Run dialog box (Windows+R) and type “regedit”. This will open the Registry Editor. Navigate to the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\WinStations\RDP-Tcp\PortNumber
Once you’ve found the key, double-click it, and enter the new port number. You can use any port number between 1 and 65535, but ports below 1000 are generally reserved for system services. Once you’ve entered the new port number, click OK to save the changes.
Once you’ve saved the changes, you’ll need to restart your computer for the changes to take effect. After restarting, the new port will be used for RDP connections.
