Unfortunately, it is not possible to change the root password in Ubuntu without logging in. To change the root password, you need to boot into a recovery mode and then use the passwd command to change the password. This can be done by rebooting your computer and pressing the “ESC” or “Shift” key when the GRUB screen appears. Select the recovery mode on the GRUB menu and press “Enter”. Once you’ve booted into recovery mode, you can use the passwd command to change the root user’s password.
