There are a few methods to determine if a server is physical or virtual.
1. Check the BIOS version. If the BIOS version says something like “Xen,” then it’s likely a virtual machine.
2. Check the CPU info. If the CPU information indicates the presence of virtualization technology, then it’s likely a virtual machine.
3. Check the network interface card (NIC). If the NIC has a MAC address that is not unique to the server, then it’s likely a virtual machine.
4. Check the system resources. If the amount of RAM and disk space allocated to the server is smaller than a typical physical server, then it’s likely a virtual server.
