1. Open the Command Prompt.
2. Type ipconfig and press Enter.
3. Find the IP Address line and locate your address next to IPv4 Address. This is your local IP address.
4. To find the external IP address, type what is my ip into a search engine and press Enter. The number that is displayed is your external, or public, IP address.
