1. Log into the router using the console cable and the router‘s username and password.
2. Enter “enable” mode by entering the password set during setup or configuration.
3. Enter “configure terminal” to enter global configuration mode.
4. Enter “Interface” followed by the number of the interface that you want to configure with IPv4 addresses.
5. Enter “ip address” followed by the IPv4 address and subnet mask of the interface.
6. Enter “no shutdown” to enable the interface.
7. If necessary, enter “exit” to return to the global configuration mode.
8. Enter “end” to save the configuration changes.
9. Enter “write memory” to save the changes to the router‘s permanent memory.
