1. Select the router from the physical devices menu in Packet Tracer and drag it into the workspace.
2. Double–click on the router to open the configuration window.
3. On the General tab, enter a name for the router.
4. Go to the PORTS tab and configure the IP addresses for each interface.
5. Click on the CLI tab and enter the commands necessary to enable each of the interfaces.
6. Enter a command to turn on routing on the router (e.g. “ip routing“ or “router rip“).
7. Enter a command to configure static routing (e.g. “ip route”) if needed.
8. Enter commands to configure Dynamic Routing Protocols such as RIP, OSPF, EIGRP, etc. if needed.
9. Click on the Security tab to configure encrypted passwords for the router.
10. Configure access control lists, if necessary.
11. Save the configuration and test the connectivity.
