1. Gather the tools you need to crimp the Ethernet cable. You will need an Ethernet cable, a crimping tool, and a cable stripper.
2. Strip off a small amount of the cable’s outer sheath to expose the four twisted pairs of wires inside.
3. Separate the four twisted pairs of wires and untwist them.
4. Trim each wire to the same length, leaving about 1/2 inch of wire exposed.
5. Slide the RJ45 connector onto the end of the cable, making sure that each wire is aligned with the appropriate pin.
6. Place the connector in the crimping tool and squeeze the handles together.
7. Check the connections by gently tugging on the wires.
8. Repeat Steps 2 through 7 for the other end of the cable.
