1. Connect to the Cisco 2921 router using the console cable.
2. Open your terminal emulator (HyperTerminal, PuTTY, etc.), open up a connection to your router, set the speed to 9600 baud and the data bits to 8.
3. Press the enter key twice when you have opened the connection.
4. You will be prompted with a message asking for a password. Type “enable” and press enter.
5. When prompted for a password, type “cisco” and press enter.
6. At the prompt type “erase startup–config” and press enter.
7. Type “reload” and press enter.
8. When prompted if you want to proceed with the reload, type “yes” and press enter.
9. Once the router is done reloading, it will be reset and ready to use.
