1. Navigate to Device > High Availability and select the Config tab
2. Select Edit for the desired HA Configuration by clicking on the pencil icon
3. Choose the Enabled radio button
4. Specify a Heartbeat Interface from the drop–down menu
5. Select the Heartbeat Interface IP Address from the drop–down menu
6. Check the box labeled “Allow Configuration Synchronization”
7. Click Commit at the top of the page
8. After committing the changes, the primary and secondary firewalls will begin exchanging heartbeat messages
9. If the primary firewall fails or loses connectivity, the secondary firewall will automatically assume the role of the active device
10. To test the failover scenario, make sure there are no clusters or active sessions on the primary firewall and then disconnect the power
