The easiest way to identify a crossover Ethernet cable is by examining the ends of the cable. Crossover Ethernet cables are designed with different wire arrangement than regular Ethernet cables. The ends of crossover Ethernet cables will typically feature two color schemes swapped from one another: one end will have the order of black/green, white/blue, orange, and brown while the other end will reverse this order so it will be brown/blue, white/green, orange, and black.
