1. Change your wireless channel: Wireless networks use specific channels, and if there is a lot of interference with other networks on your channel then your connection can slow down. Try switching to a different channel.
2. Update your router’s firmware: Router manufacturers regularly release updates for their firmware to improve performance, security and compatibility with various devices. Log into your router’s administration page and check for updates.
3. Move your router to a better location: If your router is in a poor location or covered by furniture or other obstructions, this can reduce your speeds significantly. Move it away from walls, off the floor and away from other wireless devices to help boost signal strength.
4. Reduce wireless interference: Other wireless devices such as Bluetooth and cordless phones can cause interference, which slows your speeds. Try to limit the use of other devices on the same connection.
5. Get a higher–gain antenna: Modern routers come with detachable antennas which can be upgraded to higher–gain models. These will provide a stronger signal so you get better, faster upload speeds.
