1. Power down the computer and unplug the power cord.
2. Place the computer on a flat, non-conductive surface.
3. Remove the computer’s case.
4. Ground yourself by touching an unpainted metal surface.
5. Locate the CPU socket on the motherboard.
6. Carefully remove the securing mechanism from the CPU socket.
7. Insert the CPU into the socket, making sure the notches line up correctly.
8. Using a small amount of thermal paste, spread the paste evenly on the top of the CPU.
9. Secure the CPU into the socket with the securing mechanism.
10. Replace the computer case and plug in the power cord.
11. Power on the computer and install the necessary drivers.
