1. Download the latest Windows version of Drupal from drupal.org and extract the zip file to a convenient location.
2. Create a database for Drupal. Open the Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, create a new database and assign user access rights to it.
3. Install IIS and PHP using the Web Platform Installer. During installation, make sure to select the MySQL database server option as well.
4. Change the settings of IIS to ensure that it is compatible with Drupal. Open up IIS, select the website you wish to configure and go to ‘Edit Permissions‘. Change the permissions to allow write access to the entire directory structure.
5. Copy the Drupal files into the web directory. Start the IIS and then launch your web browser to open the Drupal installation page. Follow the instructions on this page to complete the Drupal setup.
6. After the installation is complete, secure your Drupal site by setting up an SSL certificate.
7. Install and configure additional modules to improve the functionality of your Drupal site.
8. Finally, make sure your server is properly backed up by setting up a backup solution such as Windows Server Backup.
