1. Strip off about 1.5 inches of the external covering from both ends of the Ethernet cable.
2. Untwist the pairs of wires at the end of the cable, and arrange the wires in the following order:
• Orange/White
• Orange
• Green/White
• Blue
• Blue/White
• Green
• Brown/White
• Brown
3. Cross the wires over, so that the Orange and Green wires are at the opposite ends of the cable.
4. Twist the pairs of wires back together, and wrap the ends of the cable with electrical tape to prevent them from fraying.
5. Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into a computer or router, and the other end into another computer or router.
