1. Open the Start menu.
2. Type “network and sharing” in the search box and open the Network and Sharing Center.
3. On the left panel, select “Change advanced sharing settings”.
4. Select the network profile you wish to change. It’s usually “Home or Work” or “Public”.
5. Under “Network Discovery”, select the “Turn off network discovery” option.
6. Under “File and Printer Sharing”, select the “Turn off file and printer sharing” option.
7. Click “Save Changes”.
Your network is now private instead of public.
