Insert the microSD card into the memory card slot in the back of the Nintendo Switch console. If the card is inserted properly, you will hear a click. If you don’t hear a click, turn off your Switch and make sure the card is inserted properly. Once the card is inserted, your console will recognize it and you can begin using it for game storage.
1. Start by powering off your Nintendo Switch.
2. Open the back panel of the Switch and insert the microSD card into the slot.
3. Push the card in until it clicks into place.
4. Power on your Nintendo Switch and access the System Settings menu.
5. Go to Data Management, then select Manage Software.
6. Select the “Change microSD Card“ option, then confirm your decision.
7. The system will now copy data from the internal storage to the new card. This process should take around 10–20 minutes.
8. Once the transferring is finished, you can now use your microSD card with the console.
