1. Check if you have any swap space currently allocated by running the command “swapon –s”.
2. Stop all processes that are using memory from the swap space by running the command “swapoff –a”.
3. Remove the swap partitions from the /etc/fstab file with your favorite text editor (vi, emacs, nano, etc).
4. Reboot the system for the changes to take effect.
