1. Connect to the switch using the web–based switch management utility or command–line interface (CLI).
2. Use the “password” command to set a password for the management interface of the switch.
3. Enter the new password twice and note that the password will be encrypted.
4. Save the settings.
5. Log out from the switch management utility or CLI.
6. Log back in using the newly configured password.
1. Log into the command line interface (CLI) of the switch using the credentials provided by your network administrator.
2. Navigate to the enable prompt by typing the following command: enable.
3. Enter the enable password.
4. Type the following command to set the privileged password: config t.
5. Enter the command line interface password command: password <password>.
6. Enter the desired password you wish to set for the switch.
7. Enter the following command to save the new password: write memory.
8. The password for the switch is now set.
