1. Connect the Linksys router to your modem.
2. Plug an Ethernet cable into the back of the modem, and the other end into the yellow WAN (internet) port on the Linksys router.
3. Connect one end of a second Ethernet cable to any of the numbered ports (1, 2, 3, or 4) on the Linksys router, and the other end to your computer.
4. Power on the modem and the Linksys router.
5. Open a web browser on your computer and enter the IP address of the router (the default is 192.168.1.1) in the address bar.
6. Enter the username and password of the router. The default username is “admin” and the default password is “admin”.
7. Set up your wireless network settings and security.
8. Save the changes and disconnect the cables from the router and modem when you are done.
