1. Connect your computer to your modem. Use an Ethernet cable to plug your computer into one of the open Ethernet ports on the back of your modem. If your modem has a USB port, you can use a USB cable instead of an Ethernet cable.
2. Contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP). Before you can connect to the Internet, you will need to contact your ISP and purchase an Internet plan.
3. Set up your ISP connection. Depending on your ISP, you may need to enter a username and password or run a setup program to get your connection working.
4. Test your Internet connection. Open your web browser and try to load a website. If the website loads, your connection is working. If not, contact your ISP for help troubleshooting.
