1. Purchase a managed network switch: Start by purchasing a managed network switch that supports VLANs, such as a Cisco or HP switch.
2. Configure the VLANs: Use the command line interface on the switch to configure the VLANs, assigning different ports to different VLANs.
3. Install VLAN–capable routers: Install VLAN–capable routers that have multiple Ethernet ports and are capable of creating multiple subnets.
4. Connect the networks: Connect each of the computers or devices to the switch with an Ethernet cable, then connect the switch to the router using another Ethernet cable.
5. Configure the router: Configure the router to forward traffic between the VLANs.
