To turn on WiFi on a laptop running Windows 7, you will need to open the Network and Sharing Center. To do so, go to the Start menu, select Control Panel, and then Network and Sharing Center. In the window that appears, click on the link for ‘Change adapter settings.’ Here you will see a list of available network connections. Right–click on the connection that says Wireless Network Connection and select ‘Enable‘ from the context menu. After a few moments, your WiFi connection should be active.
1. Click the Start button and then click Control Panel.
2. Click Network and Internet.
3. Click Network and Sharing Center.
4. On the left side of the Window, click Change adapter settings.
5. Right-click your wireless network adapter and select Enable from the menu.
6. If prompted, enter your wireless security key or password to connect to your network.
7. Close the window. Your wireless connection should now be enabled.
