1. Log into your router’s administrative console. This can be done by typing the router’s IP address into your web browser.
2. Once logged in, look for a section related to security or wireless security.
3. Depending on the router, you may have to enter a username and password.
4. Change the default password for your router. This is the password used to access the router’s settings.
5. Change the security type. This should be set to WPA2-PSK (AES).
6. Change the network name (SSID) to something unique and not easily guessed.
7. Change the encryption type to AES.
8. Change the pre-shared key (PSK) to something unique and not easily guessed.
9. Save the changes and reboot the router.
10. Test the new settings by connecting a wireless device to the network and ensuring it works.
