1. Determine the type of headset you want to use. There are two main types of headsets; analog and USB. An analog headset will require two 3.5mm jacks, one for the microphone and one for the speakers. A USB headset will require a USB input.
2. Connect the headset to your computer. If using an analog headset, plug both the microphone and speaker jacks into their respective ports on your computer. If using a USB headset, simply plug the USB connector into the USB port on your computer.
3. Adjust your audio settings. Once the hardware is connected, you will need to adjust the audio settings in your computer‘s operating system. In Windows, go to Control Panel > Sound > Manage Audio Devices. Select the proper headset device from the list and set your microphone and/or speaker levels as needed. For Mac OS X users, open System Preferences > Sound > Input/Output tab.
4. Start using the headset. Once your headset is connected and configured, you should be able to start using it. Make sure to test it out with an internet call or audio recording to make sure that the sound quality is up to par. Enjoy!
