1. Locate an available power outlet near your router and plug in the D-Link Ethernet switch.
2. Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the router’s Ethernet port and the other end to the switch’s port labeled “WAN” or “Internet.”
3. Connect a separate Ethernet cable from each device you wish to connect to the switch, such as a computer, to one of the other ports on the switch.
4. Turn on the power switch on the back of the D-Link Ethernet switch. The switch should automatically detect the connection to your router and configure itself.
5. Check the LED lights on the front of the switch to make sure that the ports you need to use are active. If not, press the “Reset” button on the back of the switch for five seconds. The LED lights should flash, indicating that the switch is resetting itself.
6. Test your connection by accessing the Internet with the device connected to the switch. If the connection works, your D-Link Ethernet switch is properly configured and ready to use.
