1. Open the System Settings window by clicking on the icon in the top right corner of your screen, then select “Network“.
2. Select the connection type you are currently using (e.g., Wired, Wireless or VPN) and click the “Options…” button.
3. Select the “IPv4 Settings“ tab, then choose either “Manual” or “Automatic (DHCP)” from the “Method” drop–down menu.
4. If you selected “Manual”, enter your new IP address, netmask and gateway as shown below. If you selected “Automatic (DHCP)”, your IP address will be assigned automatically by your network.
5. Click the “Save” button to apply the changes and then restart your network connection for the changes to take effect.
