1. Administrative Controls: Policies, procedures, and training that an organization adopts to protect its security.
2. Technical Controls: Technologies such as firewalls, antivirus software, intrusion prevention systems, encryption and authentication mechanisms that are used to protect systems, networks, and data.
3. Physical Controls: Physical barriers such as locks, locked cabinets, guarded doors and surveillance systems that are implemented to protect personnel, equipment and data.
