A ghosted image on a printout is usually caused by a build-up of toner on the drum or fuser of the printer. When this happens, the toner does not fully transfer from the drum to the paper. This results in a faint, ghosted image on the page. Additionally, the ghosted image can be caused by a dirty or faulty laser scanner, worn rollers, or incorrect printer settings.
