802.3af PoE (Power over Ethernet) is a standard for delivering power over Ethernet cables. It allows power to be sent over the same cables that carry data, eliminating the need for additional wiring. The standard is supported by most modern Ethernet switches, and is used to power network devices such as IP phones, wireless access points, and web cameras.
