A broadcast domain is a boundary that defines which devices can communicate with each other via broadcast traffic. Broadcast traffic is information sent from one device to all other devices on the same network. Any device within the broadcast domain will receive the broadcast traffic.
A collision domain is a network segment in which all devices share the same bandwidth and compete for it. A collision occurs when two or more devices attempt to transmit data at the same time. All devices in the same collision domain must wait their turn to send data. Collision domains are typically isolated from each other, meaning that devices in one collision domain cannot communicate with devices in another collision domain.
