VLANs, or Virtual Local Area Networks, are used to segment a network into different broadcast domains. This makes it easier to manage and secure network traffic by creating secure communication zones. VLANs also allow for more efficient use of network resources by allowing certain users or devices to be grouped together in the same network segment.
