ARP (Address Resolution Protocol) is a protocol used to map IP addresses to physical hardware addresses such as MAC addresses. It is used to transmit data packets from one host to another over a local area network (LAN). ARP is a layer 2 protocol that works between the network layer and the data link layer. It is responsible for finding the hardware address of a device from its IP address.
