BIOS (Basic Input Output System) is a firmware program stored on a chip inside your computer that helps it boot up and run any software or operating system you have installed. It is responsible for checking the system‘s hardware during startup, loading and transferring control to the Operating System (OS). BIOS may also provide extra features such as system performance tuning, overclocking, optimizing memory settings and more.
