Bios is an abbreviation for Basic Input/Output System. It is a set of instructions stored in a computer’s read-only memory (ROM) that allows the computer to boot up and use its basic input and output functions. The BIOS also allows users to configure hardware settings such as the system time and date, and provides a set of specialized functions that enable the operating system to communicate with the computer’s hardware.
