Cat6 connectors are RJ45 connectors used to terminate Cat6 cables, which are used to carry Ethernet data. The Cat6 standard supports up to 10 Gigabit Ethernet speeds, compared to Cat5e’s 1 Gigabit and Cat5’s 100 Megabit speeds. Connectors are both male and female, and are designed to fit securely into the jacks, outlets, and patch panels that are used to make up the network.
