Cisco Router DHCP is a feature of the Cisco IOS® operating system that allows administrators to configure an IP address lease for hosts on a network. Through Cisco Router DHCP, network administrators can provide automatic IP addresses to hosts that use DHCP. The service arranges for an IP address to be assigned and renewed for an indefinite amount of time or for a certain period of time. Once an IP address has been leased, it is then released whenever the host disconnects from the network or the lease expires. This reduces the need for manual IP address assignments and provides a secure and efficient way to manage IP addressing in the network.
