Data governance is a set of processes and procedures which are implemented to ensure the effective and efficient use of data in an organization. It is a set of policies, standards, and controls which are used to ensure that data is accurate, secure, and compliant with organizational goals, regulations, and standards. Data governance works to ensure that data is used to its fullest potential, that it is kept secure, and that it is used appropriately.
