In computer networking, a route, also known as a route table, is a data table that stores information about routes between two nodes in a network. A route is a set of instructions that specify the path for a packet of data to travel from its source to its destination. It is a combination of the address of the originating node and the address of the destination node, as well as the type of the network interface used to forward the packet.
