Edge computing is a distributed computing architecture that enables data processing close to the data source. Instead of sending data directly to the cloud or a centralized data center, edge computing processes data at the “edge” of the network, closer to the data source. This allows data processing to take place more quickly, increasing response time and overall efficiency. Edge computing can help reduce latency, bandwidth, and storage costs. It also increases the security of data, as data can be stored locally, reducing the risk of data breaches.
