An Ethernet port, also known as a Network Interface Card (NIC), is an input/output device that allows computers to connect to a local area network (LAN) or other network. It uses the Ethernet protocol for communication and is physically similar to a standard phone jack but with additional pins to enable electrical connection. Ethernet ports are commonly available on PCs and many other devices, allowing them to communicate with each other and access other resources on the LAN.
