An Ethernet router is a device that connects two or more computers to form a LAN (Local Area Network). It transmits and receives data traffic between two or more networks by using packet switching to route data packets. Routers forward packets based on their destination IP address and can also recognize different types of network protocols, allowing them to support multiple types of devices.
