Gigabit Ethernet is a type of networking technology that supports data transfer rates of up to 1 gigabit per second (Gbps). It is the latest generation of Ethernet technology and is an upgrade from the original 10 megabit per second (Mbps) Ethernet standard. Gigabit Ethernet is used to connect computers and other devices together in local area networks (LANs), such as home networks, small businesses, and corporate networks. It is also used to connect to the Internet via broadband routers.
Gigabit Ethernet is a networking standard that provides up to 1 Gbps (or 1,000 Mbps) of data throughput. It‘s commonly used for connecting computers, servers and other network devices within local area networks (LANs). It‘s currently the fastest Ethernet standard available and provides greater bandwidth and reliability than Fast Ethernet, which offers 100 Mbps speeds.
