The Internet Society (ISOC) is an international non-profit organization founded in 1992 to “provide leadership in Internet-related standards, education, and policy.” It is dedicated to ensuring the open development, evolution and use of the Internet for the benefit of all people throughout the world. The Internet Society provides a platform for dialogue and collaboration between organizations, businesses, and people that are interested in the Internet. It also works to promote the understanding and responsible use of the Internet.
